Description

A well-designed Canvas course helps students easily navigate course materials, stay organized, and focus on learning. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the foundational skills needed to create a clear, organized, and engaging Canvas course.

You'll begin by creating an effective course home page and explore the differences between Pages and Assignments, including when and why to use each. Next, you'll learn how to build and organize Modules to create a logical course structure that supports student success. The session will also introduce New Quizzes, providing an overview of creating assessments within Canvas.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Create an informative and engaging Canvas home page.
  • Distinguish between Pages and Assignments and determine when to use each.
  • Build and organize Modules that provide a clear learning path for students.
  • Add Pages and Assignments to Modules using Canvas best practices.
  • Apply effective course organization strategies to improve navigation and accessibility.
  • Create and manage assessments using New Quizzes.

This workshop is ideal for instructors who are new to Canvas or anyone looking to improve the organization, usability, and overall student experience of their Canvas courses.
