Description | Welcome to Building an EdTech Strategy Toolkit! This course was developed by the EdTech Center@World Education in partnership with the Outreach and Technical Assistance Network (OTAN) and is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC-BY-NC-SA) International License. Since the pandemic in 2020, instructors have immersed themselves in a variety of educational technology tools to support remote instruction. As we settle back into more consistent models for instruction and learning, this BEST course is designed to walk instructors through a thoughtful process of designing strategic, sustainable instructional routines that leverage educational technology and are centered around the factors that most impact their learners. This orientation will describe OTAN's BEST course which helps teachers develop a strategic approach to designing and implementing technology based routines for their learners. The course facilitators will discuss the course in detail including how to access the course, timelines, how the content is sectioned, and what is expected of participants. Questions will be answered and registration for the course will be discussed. ABOUT THE COURSE Participants can expect to spend two to five hours per week working toward creating routines for integrating educational technology into their classroom. Along with coursework, participants will meet three times online after the orientation for a total of four sessions. The middle two sessions will be for coaching and exact dates and times will be announced during the course orientation. Office hours will also be scheduled on an as-needed basis with coaches. The last session is the culmination of the course that ends with a Show and Tell in which participants will present two sustainable educational technology routines and report on their successes. A separate flyer will be sent to those that register to attend this event. There is a separate registration for the course which will be discussed during the orientation. PREREQUISTES Participants must have basic computer skills and a valid email address. ***** A Completion of Course certificate will be awarded to those that complete the course and final projects.
