Canvas is a web-based learning management system that has both a free and subscription service. Canvas allows teachers to post assignments, schedules, enroll students, and post grades using a variety of customizable course creation and management tools.

This basic/introduction will explore Canvas to show educators how to create a course, add and organize materials, create assignments and customize their online classes. Tools and apps allowed within Canvas will also be explored and other topics as time allows.

The title, topics, and discussion points included in this session may be changed or updated as requested by the requesting agency for an inservice.

PREREQUISITES

Participants must have:

• basic computer knowledge,
• a valid email address,
• able to sign into a Canvas account.
