Description | Kahoot!™ is a game-based learning platform used to review students' knowledge, for formative assessment or as a break from traditional classroom activities. While there are several premium subscription levels, the basic version of Kahoot! is free to use and works on nearly any smart device making it easy to access even on older computers, tablets, and smartphones. Quizlet™ is another very popular learning platform that fosters practice and gives feedback to enhance the learning process. Quizlet employs Retrieval practice, varying Question types, scaffolds learning by using Guidance "fading", assists in setting learning goals, and more. This session will model teacher accounts including how to create using both Kahoot! and Quizlet and then monitoring student progress. Student accounts may also be modeled as participants "play along" with the facilitator of the session. Features available in the various subscription levels will also be discussed (free to premium).
