Description | Hosted by Escondido Adult School Face-to-Face Session 1: September 16, 2025 How can you prepare your learners to succeed in the workforce? Find out what employers say are essential skills for today's workforce. This Community of Practice shows you how to connect transferable skills in the English as a Second Language classroom to the workplace. It also offers examples of contextualizing ESL instruction easily by using workplace activities and forms. This CoP takes place on Moodle and at Escondido Adult School and runs for 5 consecutive weeks, from 09/08/2025 to 10/12/2025. There will be asynchronous online activities, including forum discussions and job-embedded lesson planning & implementation, before, in-between, and after the required face-to-face and synchronous online sessions. The three-hour in-person sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, September 16, 5-8pm, and Tuesday, September 30, 5-8pm at Escondido Adult School. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of participation (16 hours). Registration Information: There is no registration fee to participate; CALPRO professional development opportunities are available to all California Adult Education Program (CAEP) agencies and employees. |
